"I'm the wanderer, yeah the wanderer.."

"...I roam around, around, around" I grew up with a restored Rockola jukebox full of 45's. I can sing 'em all! This particular Beach Boys song is Cooper's theme this week. Since returning from vaction, the boy is out of his bed at least once a night! Now, this isn't the first time we've had such issues! But, I thought we were past it. I think the fact that we all slept in one hotel room last week was what set this off again.

I will give Coopy credit in that he isn't disruptive. He'll get out of his room 2-3 times when we lay him down. As soon as we hear his door open we yell, "Get back in bed!" Then we hear him is, "Otay mom" and run back into his bed. If we don't hear him, he quietly sits outside our bedroom door, watching TV. But, if it's the middle of the night, he's in a dead sprint to our room, climbs up the foot of the bed, stands up, runs between us, plops down face first and goes to sleep.

Layla, on the other hand, NEVER got out of her big girl bed! She was in that thing for a year before I convinced her that Daddy or I didn't need to come get her in the morning. She would lay in there and yell, "I'm awake!"

Last night, after getting out of his bed 3 times at bedtime, he did stay in it until 6am. Let's hope we're back on track!

You need to re-read this post. My editing eye was laughing at Layla's "nig-girl bed". Sounded kind of derogatory and made me laugh.
Aren't you glad you have a boy so you can sympathize with all your mom-of-boys-friends??? Can you imagine if you only had girls like Layla? You'd always think, "I don't know why your kids won't stay in bed for you. Mine NEVER got out!" :)
