Because I don't know what else to do to keep brother from putting food in his hair while eating. Seriously, I need some advice. Is this a boy thing? Layla was already using a napkin at this age. Brother...he just eats it if I give him one. Not only does he put the food in his hair, he rubs it in like he's lathering up. I have resorted to keeping a bottle of shampoo in the kitchen so I can wash his hair after meals. There has to be a better solution!Other than trying to keep brother clean, I'm trying to get Dave and I ready to leave the kids for 10 days!! If you look back to one of the first posts of this blog, I was counting down until Dave and I went on our Maui trip. The countdown started at something like 345 days. It started so early because I was 8 months pregnant with Cooper and we couldn't take our winter trip last year so cabin fever was setting in. Well, the trip is now less than 2 weeks away and preparations have begun. I am excited and thankful that we get to spend so many days in such a glorious place. Our families will take great care of the kids and the kids love them. But, there is still some anxiety. We are supposed to go to an ISU game this Saturday and I told Dave I can't do it. I just can't be away from the kids until we leave. I know, I know, so pathetic! I cannot get my mind around 10 days with no kids. We spent 5 days away from Layla when she was 2 years old and that's my longest stretch to date. But again, it's Maui.........I will survive!

considering Bennett was my firstborn, I didn't relinquish control of the spoon until just recently. And I still feed him some stuff!! Terrible, I know but I hate the mess! Now he's quite a neat eater :) A luxury I realize I won't have with my second born.
Jon and I are actually going on a 10 day vacation in a couple weeks too to Curacao in the Caribbean! We had free plan tickets and our time share. So we'll have to commiserate when we get home and see how well we did away from our babies.
Grace did the same thing. Of course if it's bad or messy Grace is all about it. I had a swim hat that I put on the girls to keep the sun off when we're outside. It's made of that gore tex/spandex stuff. It kept food off her head until I could teach her to STOP TOUCHING YOUR HEAD WITH FOOD ON YOUR HANDS. Bonus, you can wash it in the dishwasher or the washer and that material dries very quickly. Bad thing, it wasn't tight enough where she couldn't remove it if I wasn't there to watch. :-(
